The Tom Weir Statue

Tom Weir (1914-2006) was a Scottish climber, writer and broadcaster renowned for his love of the outdoors and Scotland’s landscapes. Tom inspired Scots to get out and explore their beautiful country, and is best known for his long-running television series Weir's Way.

Weir won the Scottish Television 'Personality of the Year Award' in 1976, and was appointed MBE in the same year.

The Statue was unveiled by his widow Rhona in 2014. Weir’s Rest next to Balmaha Bay is maintained by the Fraser Family and Friends of Loch Lomond.
